Valyantsin Byalkevich's memorial plaque unveiled in Minsk (photo report)

An unpleasant thing happened a week before the installation of the memorial plaque. Valyantsin Byalkevich’s father told journalists that he lacked 70 million roubles to finish all the works while the administration of Dynama Minsk (the club where Byalkevich had started his career) was not helping him despite all their promises. The money was found a few days later. It was given … by the administration of BATE headed by Anatol Kapski. BATE has been Dynama’s main rival for 15 years.

Valyantsin Byalkevich was a Belarusian football player and coach. He played 56 matches for Belarus national team in 1992-2005. He was the best Belarusian football player in 1995. He is in Sergei Aleinikov’s Club – the list of Belarusian football players who have played at least 500 official matches and in the Club of Belarusian players who scored at least 100 goals at the highest level.

Byalkevich died of a heart attack at the age of 41 on August 1, 2014.
