Suppliers: ProStore delays payments

20/04/2016 - 07:05

“Everything is fine,” say ProStore representatives. However, some shop shelves are empty. “There is a shortage of supplies at the moment,” shop attendants tell this reporter but decline to comment on anything else.

Euroradio has talked to the suppliers. ProStore has defaulted payments but the sum of the debt is a commercial secret according to a representative of a poultry factory who said:

“ProStore has delayed payments for much more than several weeks. We know that they are having problems and we are waiting. They keep promising that everything will be fine soon and that everything will be as it used to be. They used to pay very well. This is a difficult period and we are cooperative.”

A brewery representative also spoke about debts.

“ProStore has not paid our invoices for more than 45 days.”

The farm Astravetskaya used to supply turkeys to ProStore. They are now suing the chain over debts, farm director tolf Euroradio.

“We have taken legal action. The court is making a decision.”

The Ministry of Trade is not commenting on the problems of the retail chain. ProStore administration won’t explain the situation either.
