Belarusian flag hoisted in PyeongChang Olympic village (photo)

The Belarusian flag has been hoisted in the Olympic village in PyeongChang. The festive ceremony was organized on February 7. Sportsmen, coaches, the head of the Belarusian Olympic mission, deputy Minister of Sport and Tourism Alyaksandr Baraulya and Belarus’ Ambassador to South Korea Andrei Papkou attended it. The event was conducted by the Olympic Village Mayor Ryu Seung-min, the press service of the Belarusian National Olympic Committee reports.

He feels a surge of patriotism inside every time he sees the national flag being hoisted, it “is giving shivers down the spine”, skier Syarhei Dalidovich confessed.

The XXIII Olympic Games will open in South Korea on Friday, February 9.
