Lukashenka believes foreign loans under 7-8% too expensive

Aliaksandr Lukashenka considers it unacceptable to take the interstate loans at 7-8%. He stated this today during a meeting with Finance Minister Uladzimir Amaryn.

"If it's a commercial loan - it is another matter, 7-8% is normal. But taking the gold and currency reserves I consider unacceptable," said the head of state.

Lukashenka also stressed the need not to increase the external debt and demanded to optimize it.

Lukashenka stressed that priority should be given to minimization of the interest on foreign loans that Belarus will take in the coming year. Optimization should be directed to the search for domestic sources, BelTA reports.
