Belarusian CEC confirms presidential election results

The Belarusian Central Election Commission confirmed the presidential election results on Friday, October 16, the election was held on October 11. Alyaksandr Lukashenka got 83.7% of the vote (5 million 102 thousand 478 people, Tatstsyana Karatkevich – 4.44% (271 131), Syarhei Haidukevich – 3.3% (201 945) and Mikalai Ulahovich – 1.67% (102 131). 386 thousand 200 people voted for none of the above. About 48 800 ballot papers were returned invalid, BELTA reports.

The turnout was 87.22% (6 million 100 thousand people). Over 2.5 million people voted early.
