Two more countries are joining the International Humanitarian Fund. They will direct around 200,000 euros to help Belarusians who have suffered from repression.
A total of 15 states will now participate in the fund's work, according to the press service of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.
The situation at the fund was discussed by the director of Tsikhanouskaya's Office in Vilnius, Dzianis Kuchynski, with the secretary general of the Norwegian Helsinki Committee, Berit Lindeman. Over 2024–2026, the participating countries have contributed more than 3 million euros to the fund. The majority of the funds went to support those who suffered from repression, including political prisoners released over the past few months.
Some states have been supporting the fund for more than one year. Iceland has made three contributions, while Estonia and Norway transferred funds again in 2026.
As Kuchynski stated, the number of fund participants is planned to be increased to 18–20 countries by the end of the year.
