The Intentional Simon the Musician Reading Day (Yakub Kolas’ poem) will be organized on December 4.
A special happening will be organized in Yakub Kolas Museum in Minsk at 4 p.m.
Furthermore, this Yakub Kolas’ poem will be read out live in six languages on Radio Belarus, BELTA reports. Extracts from the poem will be read out in Belarusian, Russian, Ukrainian, Kazakh, English and Spanish. Journalists from Radio Belarus ad representatives of national and cultural comminutes of the country will read the poem aloud.
The action has been supported abroad. Russian, Lithuanian and Ukrainian museums, Volgograd Central Library and the association of Belarusian culture Spadchyna from Lithuanian Druskininkai have confirmed their participation in the action.
Simon the Musician was out as a separate edition 90 years ago.
