Belarus’ budget-2016 has not reached the House of Representatives so far. Meanwhile, the last meeting of the current session is appointed for December 18.
Nevertheless, the Ministry of Finance expects the budget of 2016 to be adopted by the end of this year, the Ministry spokesperson Iryna Komar told Euroradio.
Komar: “The budget was supposed to be discussed this week and even today. We were getting ready for today. In any case, even when the session is over, MPs can officially keep working for 2 more days. If we do not manage to adopt the budget, there will be a special session. We are hoping to discuss everything this week. For example, the budget may be discussed on December 17 and 19.”
The budgets are usually adopted on December 30-31 in Belarus, the spokesperson said. So, there is still time. If the budget is not adopted by the end of the year, the Budget Code denotes that the financing should total 1/12 of the previous budget a month.
The draft budget has not reached the House of Representatives yet, the press service of the House of Representatives told Euroradio on the morning of December 15.
