The representative of Belarus for the Eurovision-2016 will be determined only by viewers. The changes in the rules of the national qualifying round of the competition were made on October 21 by a permanent organizing committee, chaired by the Minister of Culture Barys Svyatlou.
According to the head of the Eurovision project in Belarus Volha Shlyager, the choice of the contestant by audience voting only is the most transparent way to determine a worthy contender.
It will be possible to cast a vote for the favorite artist by phone or via sms during the broadcast of the final qualifying round of the show. The finalists for the qualifying round will be determined by the professional jury during the audition, BelaPAN reports.
Applications for participation in the selection can be filed from 23 October.
