The Belarusian regime has declared the website and social media pages of Polish Catholic publication Gość Niedzielny "extremist materials". The decision was made by the court of the Leninski district of Hrodna, and the information appeared in the updated list of extremist materials on the website of the Ministry of Information.

In recent times, the publication had been publishing materials about Belarus, including interviews with former political prisoners Ales Bialiatski and Andrzej Poczobut, articles about the regime of Alexander Lukashenko, and publications about the expulsion of Polish Catholic priests from the country.

This is not the first time Belarusian authorities have labeled foreign media outlets "extremist". Previously, the list included Estonian outlet Postimees, the Euronews website, Polish news agency PAP, the BBC Russian Service, and Voice of America. Anti-extremism legislation in Belarus is also used by the authorities for political repression.
