At the post-match press conference, Legia head coach Marek Papszun noted the debuts of the young players for the first team, also mentioning club academy graduate Mikanovich.
Previously, Legia signed a new contract with Mikanovich running until the end of the 2029/30 season. The player performs in the position of wide midfielder.
He began his football journey in Hrodna, joined Legia's structures at the age of 14, and in August 2023 moved into the club's academy. With the under-19 team, he became Polish champion three times and reached the round of 16 of the UEFA Youth League alongside the club.
Since the start of the new season, Mikanovich has been training regularly with the first team and took part in the pre-season camp in Germany. He also plays for the Belarus youth national team, having made 14 appearances and scored three goals.
Legia sporting director Fredi Bobić called Mikanovich an important player in terms of the club's future.
